Order Management System
It answers “where is this order?” from the system rather than over the phone. Dealers, the warehouse and the field team all work on the same flow.
What is Order Management System?
In most companies “where is this order?” is answered by a chain of phone calls: sales rings the warehouse, the warehouse asks dispatch, dispatch checks with the carrier. The Order Management System replaces that chain with a single screen. Which stage the order is at, which stock it is being filled from and when it left are visible in the same place to everyone who asks.
Orders can be entered by a dealer, by the field sales team or from head office; all of them land in the same approval flow. On approval, stock is reserved immediately, so the same item is never promised to two customers. Dispatch planning, the delivery note and delivery confirmation continue on the same record — a delivered order closes, and an order that has not closed stays visible.
For organisations working through a dealer network there is a separate dealer screen: dealers enter their own orders and see their own account status and delivery history. The system is deployed to integrate with your existing ERP and accounting infrastructure; if you run e-commerce, those orders flow into the same pool.
